Amy and Zane

Tonight I photographed this really cool couple- Amy and Zane. They are getting married this September here in Lubbock and I can't wait to photograph them again! You know when you meet those kind of people who you wish were your cousins so you would see them at the family reunions every year? This is that kind of couple. I loved these guys!

Here is the question for all you photographers chiming in, which ones are raw and which ones are jpeg?

I'm not even going to pretend to have a clue which are which. BUT, I will say that these are ridiculous awesomeness. :) I love the shot of them kissing and you peeking around the column!

Wonderful images. You know, I can't tell at all which are which and I shoot RAW so go figure. LOL

Please let us know your findings.(:

I think for sure #2 and #8 are RAW. I can't tell with the black and whites though. I love playing this game! Amy-you look beautiful!

Lauren - These are more than awesome and super inspiring. I wish the weather here in Vancouver would warm up so I could go out and rock it. I shoot raw mostly and I have no clue which are which. If I had to guess - #3,4,11 and 13 are jpg? You're probably going to say the opposite or they're all raw. Anyway, if you're at WPPI I'd love to say Hi and chat for a minute - That way if you ever come to Vancouver you'll have someone you know who you could always stay with. Cheers!

Way to call a sister out!! :) Ok, first let me say these are INSANE!!! I agree with everyone else, you are on a creative high lately!! Love them!! I believe 8, 13, 15 have to be RAW! Your going to tell us right??? I shot 5 teenage girls tonight, really wanted to shoot RAW but knew i wouldn't have enough CF cards... gotta get more so i can play around!!

Here goes a crazy theory.. the vignetted ones are jpeg and the non-vignetted ones are raw because I have this goofy idea, or should I say theory, that you haven't migrated your workflow of raw to include your actions that you are used to using on jpegs. Now that is probably the craziest of all comments so please tell us soon so I can go check myself into the right place. Very good pictures regardless; very creative. MD.

It is so funny you are asking which are raw & which are jpgs because I swear to you I was going to shoot you an email after your last post to let you know that I thought your jpgs were great and I think your raws were great so you didn't need to worry too much. I'm a raw gal so if in doubt go raw is my theory.
I am not even going to guess for this post because the bottom line is they all look FABO!!!

2,5,8,9,16 - I'm guessing these are raw?? Maybe a couple more too? Hope I counted right.=) Either way, they are all fabulous! You always do such an amazing job with engagements. Keep up the good work!

Lauren! I've been a long time blog stalker, first time to post. I love these images and can't wait to hear the results, I am thinking about making the switch to raw myself. Awesome work!

I think 1,2 and 4 are jpeg and maybe 6. But how in the heck would I know. I've never shot RAW. I think maybe 8 and 10 are RAW. I'm looking for the "butter" as Millie would say. I really love them all. My question is can you really tell a difference and is it worth the switch? I would love to know. srt

Okay... so I am going to play in your little game and see if I can get these right... although they all look fabulous, I am going with the theory that the ones with the slightly "reddish" skin tones are shot RAW... of course this is me assuming that is how you are processing them but it could be the reverse... All that said... I think 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 16 are RAW. Is this correct? Tell us already... you are killing me over here!

these are all amazing. the fourth one is my fav!

March 12, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRobin Dini

Ok... someone needs to explain to me. Shooting raw takes up extra memory cards, extra processing time, lightroom treats them both the same, the customers will never know the difference if all of us professionals can't tell, the photos are all amazing regardless, and print labs all use jpg anyway. So I'm totally missing the point. Why go through the trouble unless you are a beginner and can't get exposure right? If you are confident in your work... then really? Why not just shoot jpg?

And I'm not trying to be snotty, these are real questions for me.

Hi Jen, I'm not sure, I'm just playing around to see if it make any difference. Maybe, maybe not? Still looking for the right answer on the whole raw vs.jpeg fight!

March 12, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterlauren clark

ok everyone. drum roll please.........

they are all raw.
:)

You little stinker! Point in case... it does not matter what you shoot, it is all about what works for you! Shooting RAW works for me and allows me to try some super cool stuff in ACR, process my images faster, have better white balance and RAW is more fun to say that JPG.

March 12, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermillie holloman

Are you serious. I thought for sure some of them were jpg. Well then, what are you going to do?

March 12, 2008 | Unregistered Commentercristy cross

I guess this proves that there is now reason to shoot RAW I know I can't tell.
