I heard you guys had a blast! Maybe someday I'll get to go :) These photos are beautiful and I want to squeeze each one of those kids.
That last picture is awesome!!! I love it :) Looking forward to your big post on the trip!
beautiful!!
Saw these on FB! Love them all...reminds me of when we went to Moldova a few years ago! Aren't the children so precious?
i STILL am in love with that first photo! i think i tried to get that photo, but yours is way better!
so, i will need you to give me that one so i can get it printed!
Great pictures. Love the one of the little girl peeking out of the door. The dog on the steps really made me sad.
these are perfect!!!! :):)
amazing. i would love love love to do a trip like that - how did you get hooked up with it?
LOve the one of the little girl in the doorway. And the one of the prissy little dog with it's crossed legs! I can't wait to see what we are all able to do with these images.
so moving!
LOVE these photos. Great job! Curious which lenses you carried with you and used. Mind Sharing?
The Lord is just so beautiful in you and it just shows through your work girlie!! =)

Love these pictures Lauren. Excellent job capturing the heart of the children in the midst of their poverty. I work for Compassion International and so many of these photos remind me of our sweet kiddos we serve daily. They truly are the heart of the Lord.
I adore the one of the little girl peeking through the door. Just speechless. The dog on the steps makes me really sad - he's so mangy and skinny. Great work.
Lauren, Since last year when I met you at our engagment session in Lubbock. I have kept up with your blog and have truly been inspired by your work. However this is with out a doubt the most inspiring post yet. I know the Lord lead me to your blog to do some work on my own heart. I spent a week in Honduras in Oct 07' and it was a life changing experience however, I have fallen back into the trap of taken everything I have been given for granted. Seeing this post makes me remember those little faces with tears in there eyes because they have not had food for days. Thank you so much for renewing my perspective.
I am so moved. I long to do mission work and keep praying for God to open a door at just the right time - so I am free to go with no commitments at home. I keep saying "mission first - then photos to journal next" -- We recently moved to a more mission oriented church, after 15 years at our old church and we're finding our way around. I am proud of you Lauren. The pictures are surreal with colorful beauty and yet heartbreaking at the same time. God Bless, deb (first Love Affair '08)
You have a gift of turning a world most American's cannot understand into touching images. I LOVE the last one... Christ Lives Here!
Hey Lauren!
I just wanted to say that I love the images you captured ! I totally understand what you're saying about living for yourself. I feel like all I do is photography. That's all I do and all I think about. If it's not editing, it's how can I be better or how can I reach new customers. Our business is about 2 years old and I'm finally reaching a point where I pay most of our bills on time. ( I have a lot of student loan bills and equipment bills). I can't wait till I get to the point where I can purchase a new car( I have a handed down 95 dodge truck that freaks me out), house and have enough time and money to become a member of a gym. These are things that I really want and I just wanted to thank you for sharing your photos and your thoughts. When, I see these photos, I know how lucky I am to have our clean water, our shoes, our tiny apartment and our growing business. We are so blessed. Can't wait to meet you at Love Affair !
wow, the girl peeping around the door at you is fantastic :)
talk about capturing emotion.
:D
looks like a great trip!!!!
